New Business:
1. We will be manning a booth at the Potter County Fair again. Leon made a motion to approve the cost of the booth at the Potter County Fair, Joel second it and all approved
2. Potter County Fair Add – It was recommended that we have a larger add (3 ½ x 6) in the fair book this year to include the QRC Code and buy local honey info. Joel made a motion to enlarge the cost not to exceed $75. Dave H. second it, all approved
3. Honey Sticks – used to hand out at the fair and different group presentations.
Don C made a motion to approve the purchase of the honey sticks for around $100. Tom S second it, all approved
The subject was brought up about the club getting a machine to fill their own honey sticks. This will be looked into.
4. Bryan introduced an addition to the website to benefit our members and inform people as to where to purchase local honey. This option is available to any member free of charge as long as they conform to their state regulations. You can apply to have your information on the website either on the website or by filling out a form and mailing it to Bryan. You do not have to use the internet to be a part of the informational site.
This is a great benefit for paid members.
We want to thank Bryan for all the work he does for the club on the website and for all the work it will take to get this new addition up and running. He is doing a fantastic job.
We have cards for members to pass out so that people can access the information on the website, those cards are available for all members to use.
The cards cost us $98.98. Joan and John paid for them. Kermit made a motion for the club to reimburse John and Joan for this expense. Phil second it, all approved.

8. Beginner Beekeeping class – part 2 – Saturday, April 6th 10-1
Adjournment
Program – Joan introduced the NAT Hive. It is a two queen hive. This two-queen hive is made so that it should be easier to use and do less lifting of the honey supers to check the queen and brood.
They also claim it should be easier to find the larvae to graft and use a cloak board for queen rearing.
Joel discussed – Bringing your bees from Late Winter into Spring – He had a handout and talked about the importance of checking your hive when the weather is good enough to do so. Assess situation, check for food supplies, Clean out some dead bees. Soon it is the time to be adding pollen patties to help promote brood production.
Add a sugar syrup once the weather is good enough for the bees to be able to go in and out of the hive. You can not add it too soon as the bees cannot process much water from the syrup, when it is too cold.
We had a new Mann Lake Smoker to give away.
The winner of the smoker was Brooke. Congratulations Brooke
